Our Charter and Goals
To identify, measure, and reduce Meridian Group International’s environmental impact as it relates to greenhouse gas emissions globally with the goal of being a carbon neutral organization offering a more sustainable world for our employees and customers.
Quantify
Calculate and monitor our carbon footprint against global standards and methods.
Establish
Establish a support network to control and drive our Carbon Neutral Program.
Reduce
Implement sustainable initiatives and offset programs to achieve our Carbon Neutral footprint.
Engage
Provide effective communication channels with our employees and customers.
Climate Disclosure
We annually disclose our greenhouse gas emissions and reduction initiatives to the CDP and our report is publicly available under Meridian Group International.
Our Offset Partners.
We partner with Terrapass to offset our emissions through Verra certified, exclusively REDD+ carbon offsetting projects. This means that our selected projects reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, a leading cause of climate change, while fostering conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of forest carbon stocks.

Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary REDD+ Project
The Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary (KSWS) in Cambodia is located in a region heavily impacted by deforestation, caused by illegal logging and agricultural conversion, making it a critical defence against environmental degradation. Through its REDD+ project, it has successfully saved 25,000 hectares of dense forest carbon stocks from destruction, while safeguarding 84 threatened species. It has created jobs, supported education and training initiatives, and established an ecotourism venture that supports local communities.
Katingan Peatland Restoration REDD+ Project
The Katingan Restoration and Conservation Project protects and restores a highly biodiverse area of tropical peat swamp forest, one of the largest remaining intact in Indonesia. Community livelihood development is a core priority of the project, aimed at reducing poverty, and improving the quality of life and resilience of communities, through creating sustainable livelihood options and economic opportunities. The protected area is home to numerous High Conservation Value species, such as the Bornean Orangutan.
Rimba Raya Biodiversity Project
The Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve project mitigates greenhouse gas emissions by preventing the deforestation of 64,000 hectares of uninhabited lowland peat swamp forest. It addresses the ongoing loss of forest cover caused by fire-based clearing for agricultural purposes, particularly palm oil plantations. Rimba Raya protects one of the world’s most critically endangered ecosystems, serving as a crucial buffer zone between the palm oil industry and Tanjung Puting National Park, home to one of the last remaining wild orangutan populations on Earth. Additionally, the project supports surrounding villages by developing livelihood programs that address all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, providing education and employment opportunities.
